The building itself is not out of place.  In fact, it blends in nicely with the old & new that is Tribeca

As one of the oldest bars/restaurants in the city (circa 1880’s, I think) Walker’s serves up tasty, hot food with a good selection of draft, bottle, and seasonal beers, wines, and anything else you could want to drink.  Daily specials don’t appear to be shit they’re looking to unload.  Service is friendly.  Portions are normal, American size (aka, big).  And you don’t have to sell stuff on eBay to pay for your meal.

With it’s unpretentious menu, prices, and service Walker’s stands out as a remnant of the old republic making it out of place in this city of $20 watered down cocktails.  I’ve had more than one birthday dinner here as well as dinners with friends, second dates, and drinks while watching my beloved METS.
