Forrest Gump has been in my top ten list of movies since it came out in 1994, and even after the 635th time watching it I still wonder what Forrest says in his speech at the Washington DC rally.

Well, it took little more than a quick Google search to find what was said.  Per Tom Hanks via IMDB he said, “Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don’t go home at all. That’s a bad thing. That’s all I have to say about that.”  That’s it.  All this time I thought maybe it was something overly profound, or slightly off kilter, but no.  In the simplest of ways that only Forrest Gump could describe things, he said it all, man.
