Twelve years ago today, Mark Sandman collapsed on stage in Italy while playing with his band, Morphine.  He died away from home of a massive heart attack.  Mark revolutionized rock music by stripping it down to bass and drums, and combined with his deep baritone voice, and that of a saxaphone made history.

I still listen to Morphine often especially when driving to Oneonta, the place where I was living when I was introduced to them.

Mark’s music will live on through his band members, his fans, and his legacy.
