Not gonna lie – I was skeptical about Weight Watchers.  I’ve seen friends and family members start it, maybe lose, and then stop, maybe gain some back, etc.   But others seem to swear by it.  The success I’ve had with it so far is a testament to how well it really does work if you stick to your plan.  My plan currently allows me 40 points per day, with an additional 49 points to use throughout the week.  Every day last week I either came in at or under my allotted 40, except for Saturday (chicken salad sandwiches for lunch, and two martinis in the evening will do that.)  Already I’m more than 10 lbs lighter than when I started Operation Trim on January 2nd.  Over 10 lbs in almost a month.  I’d say I’m pretty satisfied with myself.

But I can’t let myself get lazy.  I still have another 25 (or so) to go, and I need to stick to my plan.  The points will adjust as I lose more weight, and I am prepared for that.  I will also need to continue my regular exercise.  I am ok with that too.  By summertime, I want to feel confident going to the beach.  Before that, I want to get dressed for work and not have my belly drape over my belt.

Just last Thursday, I put on a sportjacket that only in December wouldn’t close comfortably.  On Thursday, however it fit wonderfully.  It’s still not perfect.  It still pulled a bit in the back, and around the sides, but we’ll get there.

I’m confident I will be close to reaching my first milestone of 180 by the time I leave for Florida in three weeks.   Maybe a few pounds over.  That will work for me.  If I continue to lose 2-3 lbs per week (this week was 3.3!), I will reach my goal of 165 by the beginning of April.  The trick will be maintaining that to Memorial Day, and throughout the summer, and to my birthday in September, and Thanksgiving, and the rest of the holiday season, and into next year.  But let’s stick to now for now…
